The Open Policy Foundation in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine held a series of webinars for educators

Nov. 26, 2020, 10:49 a.m.

The Open Policy Foundation in cooperation with the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in Ukraine held a series of webinars for educators.

The first webinar "International practices: organization of distance learning: Gymnasium "OZO" took place on October 28.

The speakers of the webinar were Iryna ZHDANOVA - Executive Director of the Open Policy Foundation, founder of the Klym Churyumov Scientific Lyceum, Candidate of Sciences in History and Albinas DAUBARAS - Director of “OZO” Distance Education Gymnasium, Vilnius, Lithuania.

"Our education system is like the Titanic. First the war and then the coronavirus made big cracks in it. Educational institutions that are quickly adapting to new conditions and introducing distance learning have taken lifeboats. They will be able to survive as they are striving for innovation and show they can be more flexible.

Pupils no longer want to return to the traditional format of study. Digital space has become natural for children and they want to study in it." - Iryna ZHDANOVA.

"Quality distance education is possible even without high-speed Internet access. For example, a pupil can download text-like homework; they do it, accumulate a few completed tasks, and when possible, not necessarily from their own home, send them to the teacher for review. The teacher should take into account objective circumstances and allow students, who have no access to high-speed Internet, to submit works later. There must be desire, and there will always be a way out.” - Albinas DAUBARAS.

The event was attended by 53 educators from the following cities, towns and villages: Vinnytsya, Myrnohrad, Slovyansk, Kostyantynivka, Mariupol, Selidove, Rubizhne, Pokrovsk, Dobropillya, Novogrodivka, Ukrayinsk, Kharkiv, Toretsk, Cherkaske, Zlatoustivka, Stepne, Velyka Novosilka, Petrivka Druga, Nikolske, Kurakhove, Zoryane, Neskuchne.

We appreciate the active participation and positive feedback of the participants of the webinar:

Lyubov RACHOK, primary school teacher, Myrnohrad:

"Thank you for the innovative ideas of behavior in relation to the team. Other values that raise the importance of the teacher."

Snizhana MYRONOVA, Methodology Specialist of the Information Technologies Department, Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education:
