Lyons Elementary School students and teachers organized charitable fundraising for children from Eastern Ukraine

A teacher of the elementary school in Lyons (New York, USA) Eric Levis and his students united around a charitable idea to help children who suffered from the war in Eastern Ukraine

For the third consecutive year, children from the American city of Lyons have arranged charitable fundraising for a charitable session at the International Green School.

Students of the American elementary school painted posters in their support of Ukrainian children, who do not have childhood due to hostilities in the east of Ukraine, and walked the streets of the city in order to raise funds and give young Ukrainians recreation, peace and a moment of children's joy.

Thanks to the generous donations from students, staff, families and friends, Eric LEVIS and his students this year raised $ 2,000 to support children from Eastern Ukraine who would go to a camp of the International Green School. Children from the front-line settlement Verkhnyotoretske, who are students of the Verkhnyotoretske education facility, will go to the picturesque places of the Carpathians. They are constantly witnessing military actions but, thanks to the Charitable Session, these children will be able to experience the atmosphere of peace and calm.

The head of the Open Policy Foundation and the International Green School Iryna ZHDANOVA visited Lyons in the winter of this year and met with children and teachers in order to thank from the heart for their help and mercy that they demonstrate towards the children of Ukraine.

Children are swallows of peace!
